The Home Page

Changing Your ‘Maintained by’ link:

At the bottom of your home page you will see a Maintained by “your Guild membership number” link.  This link allows your site visitors to contact you using the TNG Contact Us feature, using the Guild email address for your Registered Study.  Your Guild membership number and this email address were entered by the TNG Team when your site was set up.
You can change this email address by navigating to your TNG Administration page Setup >> Configuration >> General Settings, then opening the Mail and Registration section to find the E-mail Address:  If you do change your email, don’t forget to click the Save button at the bottom of the page to enable this email change.
However, it is recommended that you leave it as originally set up and don’t change it to a personal email address.
Point to Note: Any message the public sends to you via your website will be sent to you via the email set up as shown. However, if you have set up an email address for a specific tree: Administration >> Trees >> Edit Existing Tree then the email will be sent to that email address.

You may also want to change this Maintained by phrase at the bottom of your home page, by replacing your Guild membership number with your own name, or something else.  To do this, navigate to your TNG Administration page Setup >> Configuration >> General Settings, then open the Site Design and Definition section to find the Site Owner: window. Enter your information there, then go to the bottom of the page and click the Save button to enable your change.

If you want to, you can also add additional text on the bottom of your home page, a Custom Footer
In the above example you saw how to change the ‘Maintained By’ text at the bottom of the page.
Below ‘Site Owner you will see:  Custom Footer Message.  Use this to add the text which you would like to appear at the bottom of the page:

This would appear as follows on your Home Page

If you have HTML skills, then you can enhance the text which you have input, by changing the font size and colour.

This example is from my Horsman site

Point to note:  After you have performed the above steps, your home page is ready to go.  However, if there is still default text in any of the other windows for features you do not want to use, now is the time to delete that text, then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
